B5Q took a step back from football to preview the 2018-19 Wisconsin men’s basketball squad on our latest edition of Bucky’s 5th Podcast! To do so, we welcomed in Badgers basketball beat writer Jim Polzin of the Wisconsin State Journal. This is a jam-packed episode full of insights and a couple player interviews—LIVE FROM BIEROCK!!!

Here is the full breakdown:

0:00-16:35: We kickoff the show by talking about last year’s team and takeaways from Wisconsin missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time in nearly two decades. We pivot into discussing who could make the biggest improvements this season; the potential influence of Kobe King and D’Mitrik Trice, and sophomore Brad Davison playing with two functioning arms.

16:35-21:45: During local media day, Davison chatted with reporters about his shoulder, the guard depth on the team and more.

21:45-37:55: More previews and breakdowns from Jim and Jake, including if true freshman Tai Strickland could find time on the court; potential X-Factors for Greg Gard’s squad; the legacy of Wisconsin forward Ethan Happ; competition within the Big Ten Conference and way-too-early season predictions.

37:55-41:35: From local media day two weeks ago, Wisconsin sophomore forward Nate Reuvers spoke with Jake about his gains both weight-wise and in the weight room and how it can help his game.
