The Badgers, who have outscored foes 25-7 in the first period, jumped out to a one-goal lead after the first 20 minutes, but it wasn’t until Annie Pankowski found the net for the second time, in overtime, that UW celebrated a 3-2 victory over Harvard to open a non-conference series at LaBahn Arena.
Pankowski, assisted by Sam Cogan and Mekenzie Steffen, scored at 3:06 of OT to lift the No. 1 Badgers (14-1) over the Crimson (2-3-1). Pankowski scored an equalizer on a short-hander 7:13 into the game before Presley Norby gave UW the lead five minutes later. Harvard’s Lexie Laing scored late in the third period to tie it at 2.
