MADISON, Wis. — No. 16 Wisconsin (3-1, 1-0) opened up as a 23-point favorite over Nebraska (0-4, 0-2) on Saturday, according to Vegas Insider.
Wisconsin is 8-4 all-time against Nebraska. The Badgers have won five-straight in the series, including a 38-17 victory in Lincoln last season. Since the Huskers joined the Big Ten, UW owns a 6-1 mark in the series.
In the 2017 matchup, also a night game, Wisconsin improved to 5-0 thanks to a 249-yard rushing effort from Jonathan Taylor. Setting a then career-high for rushing yards, Taylor also reached the end zone twice. Linebacker Chris Orr also recorded an interception and returned it 78 yards on the fifth play from scrimmage to get the Badgers on the board.
UW ended Nebraska’s 20-game win streak in home night games.
Wisconsin is coming off a thrilling 28-17 victory at Iowa two Saturdays ago. Trailing 17-14 with 47 seconds left, junior quarterback Alex Hornibrook connected with junior wide receiver A.J. Taylor to help the Badgers steal a road win over their Big Ten West rival.
Nebraska fell to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten after a 42-28 home loss to Purdue.
Saturday will mark UW’s third night game of the season. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. and Big Ten Network will have the call from Camp Randall Stadium.
