Sound The Siren! Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Is Officially Back On Top

David Hookstead | Reporter

The Wisconsin Badgers basketball team balled out Monday night against Rutgers in a gritty 69-64 win.

My beloved team improved to 8-1, and I think it’s time to officially declare that the Badgers are back from the dead and disastrous season last year.

Usually, Rutgers is a joke. This year they walked into the Kohl Center with 5-2 record. That’s pretty out of the norm. Still, it didn’t matter because in the end, my guys took care of business. Preseason All-American Ethan Happ dropped 20 and D’Mitrik Trice chipped in 14. It was a beautiful sight to watch.

Are the Badgers back or are the Badgers back? We’re 8-1! Last year it looked like we might not even win 10 games. It was ugly all season long, and now we’re rolling a year later. (RELATED: The Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Team Looks Like Amazing. Can They Win It All?)

That’s what big boy basketball and Big Ten basketball is all about.

The Badgers are currently ranked 12th, and I think that number is only going to go up as more and more games go by.

Last year might have been a huge disappoint, but we’re talking about a whole different situation now. I hate to get overly optimistic. It’s simply not in my DNA, but this team can flat out play.

March might be a hell of a lot of fun.
