Men’s Tennis – Wisconsin Athletics

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men’s tennis team went two separate ways in their fall season debut on Thursday afternoon. Half the team traveled to Milwaukee for the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, while the other half booked a flight to Princeton, New Jersey for the Ivy Plus Invitational.

In Milwaukee, junior Chase Colton earned an impressive come-from-behind win in three set fashion to kick the season off the right way. Colton battled back against Boris Spanjaard of DePaul after falling behind a set to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Sophomore Robert Krill also notched a singles win on the day, beating North Carolina State’s Michael Ogden in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.

Westerman’s Wing:
Head coach Danny Westerman

“The guys came out ready to play, but at times, it did look like their first match of the fall season. We had some ups and downs across the board today, but each guy will have things to look to improve upon tomorrow.”

Up Next: The Badgers in Milwaukee will continue play at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic while the group in New Jersey will open up the Ivy Plus Invitational on Friday.
