Iverson Out With Leg Injury

MADISON, Wis. — No. 16 Wisconsin (8-2) will be without Khalil Iverson against Savannah State (3-7) on Thursday.

The Badgers ruled the senior forward out with a leg injury as Iverson will miss his first game since Jan. 9, 2016 against Maryland.

Through 10 games, Iverson is averaging 5.1 points on 45.9 percent shooting and 5.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He’s started each of the last 43 games for UW and has made 112 appearances in his career, second only to senior center Ethan Happ.

Associate head coach Howard Moore spoke about Iverson’s impact on the Badgers earlier this season.

“He’s very opportunistic,” Moore said. “He’s just playing within himself, playing within the flow of his teammates. He understands that Meech [D’Mitrik Trice] and Ethan and Brad [Davison] are gonna probably be the first three to get scoring opportunities, but he plays off of those guys really well, he knows his role.”
