The Los Angeles Chargers posted a three-minute video taken in secret by running back Melvin Gordon during an Uber ride, presumably in Baltimore where the Chargers are scheduled to meet the Ravens on Sunday at 12:05 p.m. CT.
Gordon, a former star at the University of Wisconsin, ribbed the driver for believing so staunchly that the Ravens would win the upcoming playoff battle. It was clear the driver had no idea a member of the Chargers was in his backseat.
“What about that running back?” Gordon asks at one point. “That Melvin Gordon kid?”
“Oh yeah, he’s something,” the driver responded. “He’s something.”
The driver, who said he was from Texas, believed quarterback Lamar Jackson would out-duel Chargers QB Philip Rivers, even though — as Gordon pointed out — Rivers was a Hall of Fame candidate.
Eventually, Gordon identified himself and signed an autograph for the driver.
