CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WKOW) — When Frank Kaminsky’s high-rise apartment was evacuated in response to bomb threats made nationwide, the former Wisconsin Badger basketball star and current Charlotte Hornet lent a helping hand to his neighbor.
“I had to walk down 49 stories because they shut off the elevators. Instead of grabbing my keys and my wallet, I grabbed a box of Cheez-Its for the long journey down,” Kaminsky told the Charlotte Observer.
“About three stories down, there was a lady with a baby and a dog and a couple of other things she had to carry, so I just helped her carry the baby.”
Kaminsky said he lived in the building for four years, and he knew the mother who needed his help. He called his actions, just being a “good samaritan.”
The bomb threat was one of many in Charlotte and across the country on Thursday.
