Badgers head to West Lafayette to battle Purdue

By Tim Kowols

The Wisconsin Badgers football team could still get at least a share of the Big Ten West division crown, but it has to go through the Purdue Boilermakers to do it when the two teams meet in West Lafayette Saturday afternoon.

The Badgers look to rebound after losing to Penn State last week 22-10. Key to that could be the return of offensive starters Alex Hornibrook, Taiwan Deal, and David Edward, who are all listed as questionable on this week’s injury report. If not, the Badgers will ride Heisman candidate Jonathan Taylor and hope for more improvement from backup quarterback Jack Coan.

Purdue’s up-and-down season continued last week after getting blown out by Minnesota 41-10. It’s the same team that scored big wins over ranked conference rivals Iowa and Ohio State earlier this season. The Boilermakers are dealing with the added distraction that its head coach Jeff Brohm could be on the way to Louisville, a rumor he denied to reporters earlier this week.

Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. from Ross-Ade Field.
