The Wisconsin basketball team faces uncharted territory heading into the 2018-19 season. For the first time in about two decades they are looking to RETURN to the NCAA tournament instead of trying to advance further than the previous year. That’s what happens following a disappointing season where they failed to meet any expectations.
The Badgers’ 2017-18 record of 15-18 overall and 7-11 in conference play was disappointing in every way imaginable. Even with the lack of talent compared to previous teams, many fans were hopeful Greg Gard could pull it together and get his team to squeak into the tournament.
Unfortunately, that never came close to happening.
Now, the Badgers must turn their attention to the present instead of looking to the past. There’s certainly a world out there where Wisconsin can get back to the tournament and even win a game or two. This article highlights three reasons we can be optimistic for this version of the Badgers’ basketball team.
