The Wisconsin basketball team missed the NCAA tournament for the first time in two decades last year. Here’s why they’ll start a new streak.

The Wisconsin basketball team didn’t know what to do with themselves. For the first time in 20 years, they failed to make the NCAA tournament, instead, ending their season early. The Badgers didn’t even make the NIT.

It was a huge shift for players, coaches and fans alike. Everyone was so used to NCAA tournament runs that even included getting out of the first weekend more often than not. March was typically the time Wisconsin finally attracted the attention they deserved all season long. But not last year.

Now, the Badgers are looking to start a new streak again. Although they have a lot of pieces to potentially make a run, their return to the postseason is up in the air for a second straight season. Head coach Greg Gard must make some changes to his system in order for this Badgers’ team to survive.

All of that may be overstating it, but the Badgers lack the elite talent they’ve had in previous seasons. Regardless, they are more than good enough to return to March Madness and even make some noise along the way. Without further ado, let’s check out three reasons why Wisconsin will make the 2019 NCAA tournament.
